Cataracts
If you are experiencing blurred vision, glare, foggy vision, or halos around headlights, you may have a cataract—a clouding of the lens in your eyes. Cataract surgery is a relatively safe and effective procedure that can restore your vision. Dr. Walker uses the latest advances in small incision, no stitch, no patch cataract surgery to remove the clouded lens and replace it with a permanent artificial lens.
Glaucoma
Like cataracts, glaucoma is a problem that usually affects people over the age of 40. It can come on gradually with few symptoms or suddenly. Glaucoma is usually an abnormally high fluid pressure within the eye, which can eventually cause blindness if left untreated.
With early detection, we will be able to treat it and hopefully save your sight. That is why we suggest patients over 40 come in for a full exam every 2 years. If you experience sudden, severe eye pain associated with blurred vision you should call immediately for emergency treatment.
Laser
Receive effective treatment for glaucoma and secondary membranes / cataracts with YAG, SLTP and argon laser surgery from Dr. Walker. Although laser can be used to break up a cataract, surgery is still required for cataract removal, YAG laser surgery may be required after cataract surgery to clear up a cloudy membrane that may form within the eye. Some refer to this as a secondary cataract.
